A 19TH CENTURY EBONY AND TORTOISESHELL 'ANTWERP' STYLE CABINET ON STAND, the central door decorated in an architectural manner, with tortoiseshell mouldings and gilt metal mounts, enclosing a fitted interior with short drawers, mirrored section with ivory and ebony tile effect floor and further short drawers, enclosing further hidden drawers, all surrounded by an arrangement of short and long drawers with conforming decoration, the base with moulded and block decorated legs with a wavy stretcher, on bun feet, 66" high x 47" wide.
John Bogle, an oval miniature on ivory within a gilt brass frame, of Isobella Carr, the Countess of Erroll from 1742-1808. She wears a white and blue coat, her grey hair swept up with a ribbon, and a band of pearls around her neck. Having been painted a number of times by Sir Joshua Reynolds as a young woman, this portrait depicts her in her later years. Signed and dated 1792. (See illustration) Condition Report: Framed, good condition, possibly slightly faded. Very good overall condition, just a little fading.
An early 19th century oval miniature on ivory of a gentleman in a red coat an white cravat, within a gilt wood frame. Unsigned. Condition Report: No condition issues with this lot. Approximate size of inner picture, 2.25ins top to bottom, and 2ins left to right. Approximate size of whole, 4ins top to bottom, and 3.5ins left to right.
