CONDITION REPORT: The casket is in generally very good condition with only minor issues. There do not appear to be any losses to the ivory and only very minor nibbles in places. Due to carcass shrinkage there are some slight gaps between a few of the ivory sections. The lid beneath the lobed section is in good condition all round with only very minor corner nibbles. The hinges are sound and secure and seem to be original. Beneath the lid there is a hinged panel which is in good order. Behind the hinged panel is an open aperture with nothing inside. There are stress fractures to the woodwork inside the aperture. All box lids and interior fittings appear to be present and are simply a little tired and dirty with no significant issues. The sections of ivory surrounding the lower section again have slight gaps and the odd stress fracture but no serious issues. The bottom moulding has sprung slightly at all corners but there is no significant movement. The rear left hand foot has been reglued. All feet are original as are the handles.
