A rare George III provincial silver Argyle, John Hampston & John Prince, York 1791, of oval form, with ebonised handle and ivory finial, the interior with removable unmarked oval canister and cover, crested, 11cm high, gross weight approximately 217gm (excluding canister)/Note: Crest and motto of MacKay Condition Report: Ivory finial, cracked. Some bending to inner rim of cover. Inner canister unhallmarked, not thought to be silver. Ebonised handle cracked, split and repaired. Very slight dent to tip of spout. Scratches beneath. Possible small repair to join of spout and body at top.
