Nineteenth century three piece American sterling silver coffee set, comprising coffee pot of fluted baluster form in the Middle Eastern style, with long fluted spout with embossed foliate decoration, scroll handle with leaf decoration and ivory insulators, tall fluted domed hinged cover with flower-head finial, on a fluted oval foot with scroll border, engraved initials, matching sugar and cream, bases stamped - Sterling 812A. All at approximately 48ozs, coffee pot 27cm overall height CONDITION REPORT Coffee pot - general overall condition good. Minor surface scratching commensurate with age and use. Body is dented in several places on lower half between handle and spout and there is what appears to be a repair to right of the monogram. Ivory insulators are cracked. Good quality mid-eighteenth century rococo influence blue agate and ormolu mounted etui suspended by a hinged clip, containing six gilt metal and ivory implements, with an associated puddingstone thread holder and heart-shaped agate and gilt metal fob, 18.5cm including clip, 9.5cm excluding clip CONDITION REPORT One internal piece missing. Panel on reverse edge has several cracks, possibly natural. Scissors are damaged. Otherwise overall in good original condition. Metalwork - clip joined to suspender clip is snapped and being held together with thread, otherwise metalwork is in good condition with some wear commensurate with age. All agate appears to be original.
