^ Irish Sword c.1800, Probably Made For a Naval Officer, broad curved single edge blade 77cms, brass hilt with 2 scrolling side bars retaining slight traces of gilding, plain grip strap, one piece ivory grip carved with horizontal ribs, in its leather scabbard with brass mounts, locket engraved J Read Dublin, the reverse engraved with a fouled anchor. Blade 77cms, overall 88.5cms. Good condition, leather well replaced, blade with a little moderate pitting cleaned bright, age cracks and some chips to grip.
^ Georgian Light Cavalry Officers Sword of 1796 Pattern Type, broad blade with single edge and single fuller etched with crowned GRIII (faint) and traces of other devices, gilt brass stirrup hilt retaining most original gilding, the pommel finely chiselled as a lion’s head, ivory grip carved with ridges, in its leather covered wooden scabbard with extensive gilt copper mounts retaining much of their original gilding. Blade 77cms, overall 89.7cms. Good untouched condition.

Ltd, CALCUTTA DELHI & SIMLA, gilt brass hilt mounts with foliage in relief, 2 piece foliate carved ivory grips (one chipped), bullion dress knot, gilt knuckle chain, in its blue velvet covered scabbard with elaborate gilt brass mounts pierced with flowers and foliage. Together with its gilt wooden label inscribed ‘Sword presented to General Mirrlees by the officers and men of the Artillery in India’. Blade 80cms, overall 93cms. Preserved in fine condition, a few small patches of staining to gilding. Major-General William Henry Buchanan Mirrlees (1892–1964), R.A. WW1, battle of Le Cateau, battle of Alam Hamza, Commander RA 4th Indian Division 1940-42, DSO 1941, Major General Royal Artillery GHQ India1942-1945, bar to DSO, MC, CB. Sold with some research material.
Good 1845 Pattern British Infantry Officers Sword, blade by Buckmaster, 3 New Bulington St, London, etched with crowned VR amidst foliage, regulation gilt brass hilt retaining virtually all original gilding, folding side guard, pommel inlet with a small ivory slip to prevent staining the uniform, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts. Blade 82cms. Good condition, repaired break to scabbard.
^ Georgian Naval Officers Sword, straight single edge blade etched with crowned GR, Britannia, 1801-1816 royal arms, military trophy, and along back edge ‘OSBORN & GUNBYS Warranted’, copper gilt stirrup hilt, front langet engraved with fouled anchor within laurel wreath, and on the rear langet an anchor within shield beneath a trident head and with laurel and fronds, lion head pommel, wire bound ivory grip. Blade 82cms, overall 95.5cms. Basically good condition, quillon slightly bent and cracked, some patches of moderate to heavy pitting to blade, retains traces of blued and gilt decoration.
^ Unusual Cavalry Officers Mameluke Sword c.1800, plain pipe back polished blade with false edge and traces of Damascus pattern, large hilt, iron crosspiece and grip strap, 2 piece ivory grips, brass rivet heads, in its steel scabbard with twin hanging rings. Blade 82cms, overall 97.5cms. Good condition, some age wear, hilt loose, old repair to one grip.

Good Victorian Pump-Up Air Cane Disguised as a Walking Cane, the whole painted to imitate cane, fixed open iron sights, small cocking square with button trigger, bun-shaped ivory pommel, brass ferule unscrews to reveal brass tipped wooden ramrod, retaining its original heart-shaped iron cocking key, the ‘cane’ unscrews into 2 sections being the air reservoir and the barrel respectively.
