A 19th century carved ivory and bone miniature pianola cabinet and chair, French or Indian, the pianola on four inswept concave legs with cloven hoof feet, the panels finely carved with open fern and scroll decoration, the front opening to reveal a single shelf and fabric lined back board, painted black keys and manuscript, two mounted candlesticks, together with carved and pierced chair, 4½in. (10.8cm.) high. (2)
A Japanese carved ivory okimono of a drum seller, Meiji period (1868-1912), standing with a pole over one shoulder suspending various drums, two studded with ebony and green stone rivets, his other hand holding a puppet, on leaf carved oval base, signed with inset red stone tablet with two character mark, 4¾in. (12cm.) high.* Condition: Well repaired old break to drums at front of pole. Shrinkage crack to centre of base (where inset plaque has been let-in). Old glued repair to break at top of cord suspending small drum at back of pole.
A Japanese carved horn netsuke, Meiji period (1868-1912), modelled as cicada, 2½in. (6.4cm.) long; together with an ivory netsuke, 19th century, of a kneeling figure working a cylinder press, character signature to underside, 1¼in. (3.3cm.) high. (2)* Condition: - Cicada: One eye missing. Otherwise in good condition with no other damage. - Ivory: Four smalls chip to hem at back of robe. No other damage.
A Chinese carved ivory puzzle ball, late 19th century, outer sphere formed of intertwining dragons with carved and pierced graduated spheres to the interior, resting on cup holder with turned baluster form stem on to a pierced column with carved peonies, circular foliate carved foot, 6¾in. (17.2cm.) high.* Condition: Ball holder broken and reglued to one side. Also glue residue at joint of turned stem and carved base section. The top stem and ball holder and bent a little to one side. Chip to tip of one leaf on base. No other chips or damage to carving. No damage to ball. Would benefit from cleaning.
A Japanese carved ivory okimono, Meiji period (1868-1912), carved as a single female figure in flowing etched decorated robes, carrying a woven basket, a square form vessel also mounted to rear of circular base with undulating apron, signed to base, 6¼in. (15.9cm.) high; together with another ivory okimono, carved as a standing female figure in flowing robes bearing etched winged decoration in places, her right hand holding the stem of a fan, top part missing, on circular base, two character mark signature to base, 7in. (17.8cm.) high. (2)
A Japanese carved ivory, Shibayama and mother of pearl okimono of a parasol maker, Meiji period (1868-1912), the diorama on a four lobed base, the man seated cross legged sawing wood, in a Shibayama decorated tunic, a half-finished parasol on a stand to his left, two other completed parasols on the ground, a black stained ivory tool box and gold pique work ivory box to his side, raised on four scroll carved bracket feet, signed with inset tortoiseshell tablet with two character mark to base, 4½in. (11.5cm.) wide, some losses.* Condition: Top and part of rim of pique work basket missing. Contains two broken parasols from other okimonos. Basket possibly reattached, as glue visible beneath. Likewise, MOP & faux wood column to side is raised slightly, with glue visible beneath. No other damage noted.

(24.2cm.) high.
An Indian ivory paper knife, early 20th century, straight backed blade with foliate decorated silver bolster, the handle pierced and carved as a deity within a scrolling foliate cage, 13in. (33cm.) long; together with a Burmese ivory walking cane handle, pierced and carved with figural and mask decoration, 6½in. (16.5cm.) long. (2)
A finely carved Chinese ivory card case, mid 19th century, deeply carved with village scenes to front and river scenes verso, heavily laden with figures, trees and pagodas, small oval monogrammed reserve front, 4 x 2in. (10.2 x 5.1cm.), some damage to lid and lip.* Condition: Body has a few hairline cracks and large piece missing to lid holder, lid has broken in two with piece missing and hairline cracks to other side.
A Japanese carved ivory okimono, Meiji period (1868-1912), carved as a bearded male figure holding an unfurled scroll on the back of an elephant, a small child figure mounting the elephant and holding the male's flared sleeve for support, inscribed oval to underside of oval base, 6in. (15.3cm.) high.
A Japanese carved ivory okimono of a toy seller, Meiji period (1868-1912), finely carved, the man with a sinuous root stick over his shoulder, suspending a variety of toys and novelties, his left hand holding a mask, 3 7/8in. (9.8cm.) high.* Condition: Section of sinuous root wood behind head has been expertly restored in carved faux ivory, plus two other similar, smaller repairs to ends of these fine roots below shoulders. Otherwise good, with no other damage.
A finely carved Chinese ivory pendant, 19th century, of oval form, carved with figure and pagodas in high relief with encompassing floral frame, pierced globe hanger to top, 2¾in. (7cm.); together with an early 20th century Chinese ivory card case, relief carved figural, pagoda and tree decoration, 3¾ x 2in. (9.5 x 5.1cm.). (2)* Condition: Small chip to floral decoration to lower right centre decoration 5 o'clock. Otherwise in good condition but would benefit from cleaning. Card case excellent condition nothing found.
A 19th century carved ivory walking cane, lightly tapered malacca cane with brass ferrule, the top section with silver collar with raised acanthus decoration and vacant cartouche with serpentine frame, L form ivory handle carved as a collared and snarling hound with mouth agape and tongue showing, glass eyes, 35½in. (90.2cm.) long.
An Indian Vizagapatam carved sandalwood and ivory lap desk, the exterior extensively and finely carved a temple and various wild animals amidst dense foliage and flowers, within sadeli work and ivory lined borders, swing handles to sides, the interior with velvet writing surface and fitted upper section with lidded compartments and pen slope, 15 x 10in. (38 x 25.5cm.), some losses, lacks inkwells.

(6cm.) high; and a seated, sleeping female holding a sickle, signed with two character mark, 2¼in. (5.75cm.) high; together with a small Japanese carved ivory okimono of a boy feeding a plump, recumbent man, signed with two character mark, 1½in. (3.8cm.) high. (3)
A good late 19th century Anglo-Indian dowry chest, profusely inlaid with floral and roundel decoration in ivory and boxwood, raised on bracket feet, the lid rising on polished steel strap hinges and the inside of the lid with conforming decoration, the interior with candle box with inlaid boxwood diamond and steel box lock with key, 37 x 20¾in. (94 x 52.5cm.), 25¼in. (64cm.) high.
A Japanese carved ivory okimono of a Geisha, Meiji period (1868-1912), black stained and engraved hair and collar, signed with two character mark to back, 4 5/8in. (11.75cm.) high.* Condition: Two small pale areas to surface of ivory to back left and right of robe - appears to be a flaw in the ivory itself. Possible tiny chip to toes of right foot - rubbed smooth so very old. No other damage or restoration noted.
A carved whalebone counter or teething peg, probably Prisoner of War, 18th / early 19th century, of square section, with engraved circle and dot decoration, 2¾in. (7cm.) long; together with a 19th century turned ivory and ebony pocket watch stand, 4in. (10.25cm.) high. (2) * Provenance: 'The Beasley Collection' (Henry Geoffrey Beasley, 1882-1939). By family descent to the grand daughters.

(5.4cm.) high.* Condition: Very good condition, with no damage. Minor rubs to stained colour on shoulders.
A Japanese carved ivory okimono, Meiji period (1868-1912), carved as an older male with child figure, the man in tied at waist robe carrying a roped handled basket containing gourds and bladed cutting tool in his left hand, his right hand holding a gourd as if to pass to the child, on textured oval base, 8½in. (21.6cm.) high.
An early 19th century ivory toothpick case, oblong form, inlaid with rose gold and tortoiseshell decoration, the central oval reserve scene with seed pearl and wire beehive on guilloche enamel background under convex glass, rose gold push button release and hinge, opening to reveal tarnished mirror over green velvet lining, 3½in. (6.4cm.) high; the third carved as a mother and child in robes beside a bird table, the mother holding a bowl of bird feed in her left hand, birds in flight and on the ground, naturalistic circular base, 6in. (15.3cm.) high, all damaged. (3)
