Roma. Oval, title miniature 89mm (3 1/2in) high (7) Footnotes: Catherine Isabella Eden (1778–1810) was the second daughter of William Eden, 1st Baron Auckland, PC (Ire), FRS (1745-1814). She was one of six sons and eight daughters. A member of the influential Eden family, her grandfather was Sir Robert Eden, 3rd Baronet of Windlestone Hall, County Durham and her uncles included the MP, Sir John Eden, 4th Baronet, Sir Robert Eden, 1st Baronet (last Royal Governor of Maryland) and Morton Eden, 1st Baron Henley (a diplomat). Catherine married the Rt. Hon. Nicholas Vansittart (1766-1851) in 1806. She sadly died after just four years of marriage following a period of illness. Lord Vansittart became Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1812-1823 and was created Baron Bexley in 1823. As the couple had no issue and Lord Vansittart never re-married, the title became extinct upon his death. Y A GEORGE III BURR YEW AND HAREWOOD 'HARLEQUIN' PEMBROKE TABLEATTRIBUTED TO INCE & MAYHEW, CIRCA 1780The sliding panel to the top opening to reveal a finished interior and compartment rising up on a release action72cm high, 55cm wide (unextended), 70cm deep This is a rare example having the sophistication of the concealed rising compartment. This finely veneered Pembroke table can be confidently attributed to the Golden Square firm of Mayhew and Ince based on the use of burr yew-wood as a large scale veneer, 'the only wholly idiosyncratic veneer wood the firm used and possibly unique to Mayhew and Ince among London cabinet-makers of this date' (P. Macquoid & R.Edwards, The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Leeds, 1986, pp. 589-593). They supplied a veneered yew-wood commode to Sir Brook Bridges of Goodnestone Park, Kent, that was exhibited in Treasures from Kent Houses, Royal Museum, Canterbury, September - October 1984, no. 57. Similar burr yew Pembroke tables attributed to Ince and Mayhew were sold Christies London, Important English Furniture, 13th Nov 1997, Lot 85 £41,100 and The Collection of Mr and Mrs Jack Steinberg, 19th May 2016, lot 36, £37,500.Please note: Dreweatts have applied for a de minimis exemption licence for the ivory in this lot (Ref: 9RQHDB9J)Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and useSome old splits and minor chips as expected for age. some wear and old loss to the painted/ ebonised surface of the edge of the top of the table as expected for age. The string forming part of the action has been replaced (as expected) in order to enable the action to operate reliably. Handles and lock all appear original. Lacking key. Drawer linings and lining to interior beneath the sliding top are all solid mahogany.Some minor old repairs as expected for age but minimal. Casters are all original and matching. Operating drawer to one side and false drawer front opposing finished equally to operating drawer and with original matching handles. No old breaks to legs. Basically in good order overall. This does not appear to be active.The portrait does not appear to be showing any damage to the surface. With a few flecks of dirt or dust.Soft solder present to edges of portrait, joining the painting bezel to the pendant frame. Sections of soft solder are visible all along the join, and with some tarnish.Wear to the portrait bezel edge, with some small losses. Some areas of the bezel edge are slightly out of shape. A few sections have folded into gaps between the glass and the bezel, visible by 10x magnification. Seed pearl monogram to the reverse appears to be missing one small seed pearl to the top of the T. Underside of glass and surface of woven hair showing some flecks of dust and dirt, mostly under 10x magnification with some visible by eye.Solder join visible to one side of the frame.Spots of tarnish to metal surfaces.Minor dents, marks and scratches.Included papers read: 'Considered by Mr Lowe of the Victoria and Albert Museum to be an early work of Thomas Hazelhurst circa 1790'. The reverse of this paper (not shown in the photo) reads 'Portrait of William Bellew of Stockleigh Court'. The lower paper reads ' This portrait came to me from my Aunt Louisa Bellew. It was the portrait of her grand father. On the death of Reginald Crundall Punnett it is to go to Froude Trollope-Bellew'.

Brooch pin deficient, 52mm x 42mm, 21.56g,and a Georgian painted miniature,miniature on ivory, depicting a gentleman wearing Naval uniform, labelled verso Abraham Friedrich Von Wathency, possibly 1738-1800. Lot 651

A rare George III double portrait ring with a double-sided revolving bezel containing two portrait miniatures on ivory depicting a lady and a gentleman, on a plain gold shank. APHA Ref: 29448945816Good condition commensurate with age. There is surface dirt on the miniatures and slight damage, possibly caused by water/moisture getting beneath the glass, mostly affecting the background rather than the faces. The glass appears to be original and in good condition, one side has a scratch in the corner and a slight blemish on the other corner. No obvious signs of any damage or repairs, the swivel mechanism works well. Not hallmarked or tested but probably 9ct or 15ct gold. Weighs approximately 4.9 grams.

APHA Ref: 29448945816Very good condition commensurate with age. The bezel measures approximately 14mm x 12mm. Not hallmarked and has not been tested but looks to be either 15ct or 18ct gold. Weighs approximately 8.0 grams.

After Franz Xaver Winterhalter, fine miniature on ivory portrait of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and five of their children set in a classical background after the original commissioned by The Queen in 1846 and signed F. Winterhalter. Mounted in a fine yellow metal, mother o pearl inlaid, horn and ebonised frame set with a crown probably for Royal presentation. The miniature 11.5 x 17.5cm, the frame 24.1 x 30.6cm. APHA Ref: FYWXP9JYFranze Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) was the Court painter to most of the crown heads of Europe and an international celebrity of his day. He came to England in 1842 and is believed to have painted 120 works for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert over his lifetime many of which would have been given as gifts.
