ERICSSON St. Petersburg' and 'No. 91', on a brass gimbal and in a mahogany three section box with hinged lid, with ivory plaque inscribed '91' and with brass side carrying handles, 18.5cm high, 18.5cm square.
λ A Regency rosewood and marquetry sofa table, the drop-leaf top inlaid with stringing, satinwood banding and rosewood crossbanding, above two frieze drawers, the base inlaid with palmettes on a 'U' shaped stem on scroll legs and ivory ball feet, 72.3cm high, 104.8cm wide (closed), 61.1cm deep. λ An 18th century Anglo-Indian rosewood and ivory tea chest, the hinged top with a caddy moulded edge with ivory banding decorated in lac with scrolling leaves and flowers, with a bronze swing handle and a central tree, the interior with a plush lining and three divisions containing two cut glass and silver lidded canisters, each engraved with the coat of arms of the Egerton family, the front with an engraved escutcheon, c.1770, Vizagapatam, 14cm high, 22.6cm wide, 12.8cm deep. The coat of arms are for the marriage of William Egerton (1726-1783) to Mary Kirke (1727-). They had six children. The Egerton family were important landowners. One of the family was made Viscount Brackley, later Earl of Bridgewater. Another became Duke of Bridgewater and pioneered the construction of many of Britain's canals. The Egertons own Tatton Park, Cheshire.
A Victorian burr walnut and ebony dressing case, the hinged lid inset with an engraved brass plaque inscribed 'Ella Waddell January 23rd 1875', the compartmented interior with a leather lined mirror to the lid and with various divisions fitted with cut glass silver topped bottles, jars and containers engraved with strapwork and with monogram 'EW', the silver hallmarked London 1874, with steel and mother of pearl handled utensils, with a side drawer fitted with two ivory bushes and with a base writing and jewellery drawer with a silk lined divided interior and with a leather writing surface, 19.2cm high, 30.7cm wide, 22.5cm deep.
