Condition report: maker's mark illegible, sterling, London and date marks just visible; sterling mark only on lid collar and possible alteration where the hinge joins the lid; no inscriptions and no obvious rubbing out on the body; the spout does not have a strainer; general minor bruising; no splits or holes, no obvious repairs; base inscribed M.J. and the weight 25.11; the ivory handle has some natural cracks.
