An early 18th century Indo Portuguese ebony, satinwood and red tortoiseshell travelling case, the hinged lid opening to reveal four compartments, the fall front dropping down to reveal an arrangement of seven drawers centred by a nonsuch type mirrored and ivory inset central compartment which pulls out to reveal three 'secret' drawers, on ebonised bun feet, 42cm wide, 30cm deep, 29cm high. Ivory submission reference: YHDD1FSF***CONDITION REPORT***Looks to be in honest condition, the lid with two replaced panels of tortoiseshell and further loose veneers including some losses to the ebonised banding and one section of satinwood banding, interior of the lid is in satinwood which has a crack running across, internal compartments plain with some sections of veneer missing from the left side, lock looks to be a later replacement, but does work on the old key which also works the lower lock, fall front has one section of satinwood missing, interior with some damages and losses to the ivory banding of the inside of the door and further small losses to the front of one of the drawers, minor losses to the inlaid 'floor' of the central compartment, both sides with lifting and some missing veneers. The back again with some missing veneers and a horizontal split. AN EARLY-VICTORIAN LACQUERED BRASS GOULD-TYPE MICROSCOPE BY CARY, LONDON Contained in a velvet-lined mahogany case doubling as the microscope's base, with three ivory specimen slides, multiple lenses and tools, the case measuring approx. 12.8cm x 11cm x 3.5cm Ivory declaration reference: JKRC3E5G Condition Report:Very good condition overall. Mahogany case is sound with a good rich consistent colour and only light knocks to edges. Velvet lining likewise very good, with light wear and fading in places. Microscope components are generally in very good order, though the mirror glass is mottled. Assembly is easy, with joints holding securely. Ivory slides worn and with surface dirt but structurally sound.

A 19TH CENTURY TORTOISESHELL-VENEERED, MOTHER OF PEARL-INLAID AND IVORY-BANDED TEA CADDY With domed top and serpentine front, raised on bun feet, the lid opening to reveal a twin-compartmentalised interior, the whole measuring approx. 12.5cm high x 20.1cm wide x 12.3cm deep Ivory declaration reference: 7UQHSTX7 Condition Report:In fairly rough overall condition. Metal stringing has lifted in many areas, with losses. Substantial chips/losses around the edge of the flared base. Tortoiseshell panel to rear of lid with cracks (one being approx. 3.5cm in length) and chips to corners. Bun feet all loose to varying degrees, with one appearing to have been heavy-handedly reaffixed with glue. Paper covering to underside worn, with losses. Ivory internal stringing cracked with losses around hinges. Hinges themselves rather stiff and not securely attached to lid (the wood beneath the chipped ivory being damaged similarly). Lids to internal compartments lack handles. Lining very deteriorated.
