A fine Regency black and gold lacquer worktable, the white lacquer figures and others on horseback in parkland landscapes within a scrolling border of dragons, the interior similarly decorated and fitted lidded compartment, trays and ivory bodkins etc., with pull out basket beneath on turned supports with splay claw feet, 63cm wide CONDITION REPORT: Lot contains an element of pre-1947 ivory or other organic material which may be subject to export restrictions. There is slight rubbing and small pieces missing to the top border, particularly the front border, decoration on the top rubbed throughout, there os a split in the lacquer to the back frieze, gilding rubbed on al collars, left stretcher loose joint with leg, feet scuffed, interior good with many accessories, one cover missing to front thread spool. Key present. There is also a scratch to the top of about 7”
Louis Sosson (act.1905-1930), an Art Deco ivory figure of a tambourine girl, nude with inlaid metal bands to her arms and clear stones to her ears, signed to the onyx base, 21cm high overall CONDITION REPORT: In very good condition. All fingers and toes present and face undamaged. Tiny traces of dirt in places. One of the stones to her earpiece is dirty and possibly cracked. The metal band on her raised arm is slightly loose but covers the join when replaced. The square lower part of the onyx base has tiny chips to the corners. The figure itself measures 16.5cm high
