Chinese carved ivory puzzle ball on figural stand 20cm high, turned ivory jar and cover decorated with a landscape scene and calligraphy 9.5cm high, and a figure of horse on wooden stand, PROVENANCE: The vendor's father joined the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation in the late 1940's. An Edwardian oak card box, the glazed hinged lid enclosing three division interior and a pair of ebony, rosewood and ivory whist markers by Goodall & Son, London, a Victorian papier-mâché and mother of pearl inlaid three fold screen (af) and a miniature mahogany chest of drawers (af). CONDITION REPORT: Card box and whist markers appear to be in good condition, very minor scratches to the base of the box. The screen is covered with losses to the lacquer throughout and losses to the mother of pearl, each set of hinges are broken. Chest of drawers are missing the side, the top looks like it has been made out of something bigger, two handles missing and drawers are stiff, edges missing to right hand side.
A small group of hallmarked silver flatware including a George VI hallmarked silver tea strainer with pierced geometric finial, Lanson Ltd, Birmingham 1942, two condiment spoons, London 1814 and 1861, two pickle forks, two coffee spoons, a silver King's pattern dessert fork, London 1870 and a silver bladed and ivory handled butter knife, weighable silver approx 5ozt (9). CONDITION REPORT: The butter knife has a bent blade, one of the condiment spoons is also bent, the bowl is bent, split handles to ivory.
A George VI hallmarked silver Art Deco ivory mounted four piece tea set, each piece of panelled rectangular form, the teapot and water pot with square section ivory handles and finials, each panelled body with engraved Deco detail and also bearing the initial "W", Edward Viner, Sheffield 1945, height of water pot 15.5cm, combined 56ozt. CONDITION REPORT: Old splits to ivory mounts, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
A George V hallmarked silver circular bowl with hammered finish and engraved initials dated 1922, London 1921, diameter 17.5cm, a silver basting spoon, London 1804, a Georgian tablespoon (hallmarks indistinct) and two silver sheath handled ivory bladed salad servers, weighable silver approx 11ozt (5).
A mid to late 19th century ivory figure of a lady, possibly French, with lace decolletage and cuffs, with a fleur-de-lis covered underskirt, height 22cm including stand and an early 20th century Chinese carved puzzle ball on stand, height 13cm. CONDITION REPORT: A slight crack to neck, small crack to back and side of head, tiny piece of back of diadem missing, some surface dirt, otherwise in good condition with lace edging intact. The figure is one solid piece of ivory. The puzzle ball and stand is bone. Postage within UK would be £15 + VAT.
