An unusual Malayer Carpet from West Persia circa 1940, the strawberry field beautifully decorated with vines issuing flowers, centred by black, ivory and strawberry medallion of floral design enclosed by black border of palmettes and leaves. Signed ''Mobarak-bad'' on top left and in reverse on top right of the carpet. 10ft 7ins x 7ft 2ins. (323cms x 220cms).
A Victorian copper samovar, with ivory handles, decorated with palmettes, with a foliate finial, raised on a quatrefoil base and bun feet, 42 by 37cm, and three graduated meat covers plated on copper, with bar handles, the largest 43 by 23cm, with another plated cover with oval handle, marked James Dixon & Sons Sheffield No 409. A Royal Worcester blush ivory Persian style twin handled vase, the body decorated with a green woodpecker in branches highlighted in gilt, impressed and printed marks in blue, 13.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS General wear, scuffs and dirt, and some rubbing to the gilding, but overall appears sound.
An early 19th century amboyna and satinwood strung tea caddy of bombée domed octagonal outline and with ivory escutcheon, the hinged cover with original velvet lined interior opening to reveal two lids, flanked by ring brass carrying handles, 21 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Wear, scuffs, deterioration to the finish of the veneers. Various cracks, splits and losses to carcass and veneers. Some fitments missing (please see photos for examples). Stringing lifting, some veneers lifting. Inner lids warped and with cracks and losses. Overall in need of sympathetic restoration.
A 19th century Japanese Meiji period lacquered inro decorated in raised relief with sleeping man on a chest, the reverse with two figures and an animal on a nashi speckled ground, signed, together with a carved double gourd shaped betel nut netsuke, inro 8 cm x 7 cm CONDITION REPORTS Some wear, scuffs and dirt, some small chips. Some cracks to the lacquer and several cracks to the bottom corners. Double gourd netsuke with large chip to one section, and with cracks and discolouration to ivory.
