He married three times, firstly in 1819 Susanna Warre (1797-1820) daughter of John Cornwall of Hendon, Middlesex. The Warre family had long been settled at Hestercombe near Taunton, their principal seat until the 18th century. Commercial interests included the port trade. A prominent Whig politician and reformer, Warre was a founder member of what would shortly become the RSPCA.++Small rubbed/scratched area on Warre's forehead, both otherwise good original condition
