Very finely carved 19th century Chinese Cantonese ivory sectional hand fan, set in a deep gilt frame and glazed CONDITION REPORT; Overall condition very good. Some discolouration to the ribbon. One stick has moved out of place and we are unable to move it back without dismantling the frame. All sticks are present, one stick has a small piece missing (pictured)

ENGLAND FOOTBALL: An attractive printed oblong 12mo card individually signed by ten members of the England World Cup winning team of 1966, comprising Gordon Banks, George Cohen, Jack Charlton, Ray Wilson, Alan Ball, Nobby Stiles, Bobby Charlton, Martin Peters, Roger Hunt and Geoff Hurst. All have signed with their names alone in bold blue or black inks above their printed names. Limited Edition number 1138 of 1966. Matted in black and ivory alongside a colour image of the England football squad of 1966 with the Jules Rimet trophy and various different smaller images from the World Cup final. Framed and glazed in a black and silver coloured frame to an overall size of 30.5 x 22.5. VG
CHURCHILL WINSTON S.: (1874-1965) British Prime Minister 1940-45, 1951-55. Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1953. Vintage signed 2.5 x 3.5 photograph of Churchill in a half length pose. Signed ('W S Churchill') in dark fountain pen ink with his name alone at the base of the image. Matted in ivory and gold above a Cuban La Corona cigar band. Framed and glazed in a gold coloured frame to an overall size of 8 x 11.5. Some light silvering to the image and a small stain, apparently caused by a small piece of sellotape, to the image (the latter not affecting the signature). G
PELE: (1940- ) Brazilian Footballer. Signed colour 12 x 18 photograph, the famous image depicting Pele and England football Captain Bobby Moore standing opposite each other in full length poses and exchanging shirts at the conclusion of England vs. Brazil at Guadalajara, Mexico, on 7th June 1970, during the World Cup. Signed ('Pele') in bold black ink with his name alone to the lower white border. Matted in black and ivory and surrounded by various different small colour images of Pele throughout his career etc. Framed and glazed in a black and silver coloured frame to an overall size of 22.5 x 30.5. Bold blue ink signature ('God bless you, M Teresa MC') on an oblong 12mo white card, matted in ivory with gold coloured borders alongside a 9 x 12.5 image of Mother Teresa seated in a full length profile pose writing in a large book. Framed and glazed in a gold coloured frame to an overall size of 18.5 x 17.5. EX
VALENTINO RUDOLPH: (1895-1926) Italian-born American Actor of silent films. Fine fountain pen ink signature ('Rudolph Valentino') on a slim oblong 12mo piece, matted in ivory beneath a sepia image of the actor in costume. Framed and glazed in a wooden frame to an overall size of 13 x 16.5. Rare. VG
ENTERTAINMENT: Selection of printed 8vo and 4to brochures and programmes, some loosely removed pages etc., most relating to various film festivals including Cannes, 1980s - 1990s, each individually signed by various film actors and directors, including John Boorman, Tom Selleck, Robert Altman, Whoopi Goldberg, James Ivory, Terence Davies, Quentin Tarantino, Marcia Gay Harden, Baz Luhrmann, Tim Robbins, Edward James Olmos, Luc Besson, Peter Schneider, Mary Louise Parker, Don Johnson etc. Some multiple signed. REYNOLDS JOSHUA: (1723-1792) English Portrait Painter. Scarce, dark ink signature ('Sir Joshua Reynolds') on a piece, slightly irregularly clipped at the base and most likely removed from a page of a visitor's book, attractively matted in ivory and cream and laid down alongside a small contemporary note in an unidentified hand, stating 'This is the signature and writing of Sir J. Reynolds on his viewing the house & paintings at Cowdray House in Sussex about 1785'. Matted beneath an antique engraving of the famous self-portrait of Reynolds (published by Cadell & Davies of London, 8th May 1809) and framed and glazed in a gold coloured frame to an overall size of 16 x 20. About VG Cowdray House was one of the great Tudor houses of England, situated close to Midhurst in West Sussex. Several years after the visit of Reynolds, in September 1793, the house was largely destroyed by fire during the course of restoration work. From the collection of paintings acquired by the owners, the Viscounts Montagu, only three were to survive.
MILNE A. A.: (1882-1956) English Author, creator of Winnie-the-Pooh. A good D.S., A. A. Milne, three pages, folio, n.p. (London), 5th June 1928. The typed document is a Memorandum of Agreement between Milne and Horace Watson of the Haymarket Theatre in which Watson secures the sole and exclusive license to perform Milne's play The Ivory Door throughout the British Isles for a period of five years, the document comprising seventeen clauses covering royalty payments (5% of the gross weekly receipts up to £1200 and 15% thereafter), agreeing that Milne can attend all rehearsals and that the cast 'shall be chosen by mutual consent', also agreeing that Milne shall retain the film and amateur rights etc. Signed by Milne at the conclusion. Four file holes to the left edge of each page and some minor pinholes to the upper left corners of each page and minor age wear to the edges of the pages, none of which affect the text or signature, otherwise VG The Ivory Door is a three act play by Milne, set in a fictional castle and the surrounding countryside.
MARY OF TECK: (1867-1953) Queen Consort of the United Kingdom 1910-36, wife of King George V. Vintage signed Christmas greetings card, the 8vo folding card featuring a colour illustration to the front cover, being a reproduction of a painting by the illustrator Howard Davie depicting Queen Philippa's visit to the First Cloth Hall at Norwich in 1335, signed ('from your devoted May') to the inside, beneath a printed greeting. Dated 1925-26 by the Queen who has also added a holograph note beneath her signature, 'grateful thanks for the lovely ivory box & pretty etching'. Some very light, minor age wear, about VG
