An Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam ivory and sandalwood sarcophagus-form workbox, circa 1830, the two-tier canted lid with gadroon capped ivory finial knop over black foliate line engraved borders, enclosing lift-out tray fitted with lidded compartments, pin cushions and other reveals for sewing, the front, sides and back with conforming ivory borders, on four gadrooned bun feet, 31cm wide.

A fine mid 19th century rosewood mercury marine stick barometer, with cavetto moulded caddy pediment and moulded cornice over brass edged bowfronted glazed ivory backed scale calibrated in inches with vernier and signed 'Moon from Dollond, Minories, London' within geometric borders, the throat with ivory adjustment disc over spiral turned shaft mounted with glazed mercury thermometer and pivoted gimbals, the base with gadroon carved collar over cylindrical brass cistern, 91cm high.
A 19th century Chinese export 'Burmese' ivory chess set, one side stained red, the other left natural, the pieces heavily carved with foliate decoration, kings and queens with pierced crowns, bishops with mitres, knights as horse's heads, white rooks bearing the Union flag, the king 12cm. high, the pawn 6.25cm. high, two white pawns later replacements.
A fine pair of Japanese gold lacquer and shibayama vases, with silver coloured metal mounts to the rims and feet, each vase intricately inlaid with ivory, mother of pearl, coral and semi precious stones. One side with two figures beneath trees with hills in the distance, the reverse with birds in flight and beneath flowering shrubs, the gold ground with delicate tooled paulownia scrolls and leaves to the shoulders, Meiji 1868-1912. 15cm.
