A Geo light company officer’s sword, c 1800, with unusually long shallow fullered, curved blade, 32½”, by “Thos Wilcos. Warranted” (Hill St B’ham, 1777-1808) lightly etched with crowned GR cypher, crowned R Arms and supporters, standing officer with sword, trophy, with scrolling and foliage, gilt hilt, the guard slotted with 3 loops each side, into pierced crowned GR cypher and knucklebow, to lion’s head pommel and backstrap, diced pronounced ivory grip (cracked) in its leather scabbard with brass locket and (replaced) chape. Basically GC, retaining approx 20% original gilt (blade some wear and light pitting, scabbard leather AF). Plate 5
A 20 bore Kabyle Arab snaphaunce jezail, 64” overall, barrel 48½f” with flared muzzle, secured by 27 embossed silver coloured barrel bands, the lock of early European form, fullstocked with very slender fore end and flat “fish tail” butt partly composed of slabs of ivory secured by iron straps and decorated with inlay ivory and embossed silver plaques, the trigger guard of brass overlaid with silver, with original steel ramrodd. QGC (lock AF and heavily pitted, worn overall). Plate 8

An unusual 19th century Burmese dha style dagger, single edged blade, very slightly swollen at point with maker’s mark at forte, ivory hilt deeply carved in the form of a seated stylized deity with child strapped to the back, and grotesque features, in its sheet silver covered sheath, en suite with lower band to hilt, with filigree border panels, the lower ones decorated with stylized filigree floral devices. Good Condition, a pleasing example. Plate 9

A heavy quality Burmese sword dha, slightly curved, single edged blade 22½”, with ground central fuller, and narrow back fuller for half length, solid ivory hilt, the lower part covered in sheet silver, en suite with scabbard, divided into panels with bands of filigree work, the upper part bound with red (faded) silk covered cord, the cord extending into an arm loop with tassels. Good Condition Plate 10
A good quality Sumatran kris, wavy pamor blade 14”, the top of the blade finely overlaid with a gold reclining elephant, foliage and fruit, brass stem with pierced floral band and plain cup into ivory garuda grip, finely carved overall with panels of stylized foliage and flowers, wooden sheath, lower part covered with sheet brass impressed with a panel of stylized foliage on the front, polished, sharply carved darkwood boat shaped top. Very Good Condition. Plate 11
