LARGE COLLECTION OF PORTRAIT MINATURES BY ELIZABETH BROCKBANK R.M.S. (1882-1949) EARLY/ MID 20TH CENTURY comprising: a variety of miniatures on ivory and vellum of landscapes, flower studies and portraits in assorted shapes and sizes, including a portrait of Georges Lascelles (elder son of H.R.H. Princess Mary) as a baby; a framed facsimile letter from Queen Mary; and a framed newspaper article (32) Note: Elizabeth Brockbank was a Yorkshire artist. She exhibited her works at the Royal Academy in London, the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh and many other domestic and international galleries. In 1918 she was elected a member of the Royal Miniature Painter`s Society. In the 1920`s she was asked, alongside other prominent artists of the day, to paint a miniature for the Queen`s dolls` house.
