An 1803 Pattern Infantry Officer's sword, 75.5cm curved blade etched with stands of arms, scrolling foilage and crowned GR cypher, regulation copper stirrup hilt with lion's head pommel, ribbed ivory grip, together with a 1796 Pattern Infantry officer's sword, the blade etched with with stands of arms and crowned GR cyphers. No scabbards, some patination to blades, grip wire partly replaced on latter. (2)
A Victorian Mameluke for an ADC, 81cm slightly curved blade with clipped back point by SANDLAND & SONS LONDON, etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, 2 over ADC beneath the Royal Arms, regulation brass hilt applied with the Royal cypher and a stylised chrysanthemum, two-piece riveted ivory grip, restored, contained in its plated steel scabbard, complete with knot.
A late 19th Century Brazilian hunting knife, 40cm heavy clipped back blade with spear point, partially stamped XXXXXX & GADET PELOTAS, white metal hilt with two-piece riveted ivory grips, contained in its white metal mounted leather scabbard, chape lacking, blade patinated and old repair to guard, together with an elongated machete by LUCKHAUS & GUNTHER and stamped LA CATALANA, 70.5cm blade, white metal hilt with eagle's head pommel and chequered two-piece wooden grips, contained in its white metal mounted tooled leather scabbard. (2) The Company Scholberg & Gadet of Pelotas merged with Leopold Joucla in the mid 1870's to form Scholberg, Joucla & Silva and Alexander Gadet, was proprietor of this partnership from 1882 until his death in 1894, dating the first knife in this lot to circa 1875. Oval jet brooch has chip on rim. Three coral necklaces in good order. Ivory necklaces with carved flower beads - some of the petals are chipped. One round bead ivory necklace has split on the clasp, but still screw together. Otherwise the rest of the jewellery is in good order with only slight wear commensurate with age
