Ivory field with huntsmen on horses aiming at elephant, giraffe, zebra, warthog, deer, fox and other predators; butterflies, pheasants, flowers and landscape vignettes; light red main border and pale blue guards of deer and other animals.

Faded light terracotta mihrab with date at the top of the arch; vase of flowers at the base; pale blue columns to each side; ivory top spandrels; ivory flowering plant main border and dark blue floral guards.
Harun Kashan carpet with inscription, west Persia, second half 20th century, 13ft. 2in. X 10ft. 4.01m. X 3.05m. Water damage and loss to lower end right side; otherwise in good pile. Rich red field with all over floral sprays, cloudbands, deer, pheasants and boteh motifs; ivory palmette and floral main border with pale blue and pale yellow floral guards. Workshop inscription in pale green cartouche at the lower end in the outer yellow guard. Robust handle.

Dark red field with two large mid-blue rectangular medallions with arrowhead pendants; pale green half medallions to the sides of the field and quarter medallions in each corner. Classic design of red cartouche shape field with dark blue centre medallion with ivory inner medallion repeated in the dark blue spandrels; dark blue scrolling floral main border and pale gold floral guards.
Fine Karabakh rug, south west Caucasus, late 19th/early 20th century, 6ft. 10in. X 3ft. 9in. 2.08m. X 1.14m. Slight wear in places; small repair to centre field; reweaves to selvedges in places; surface mark to left side centre. Dark blue field with all over large floral boteh alternating with stylized flowering plants; four narrow floral borders in pale yellow, dark blue, terracotta and ivory with a pale green and dark blue reciprocal medachyl outer border. Fine velvety wool and soft handle. Cf. Kerimov et al. Rugs & Carpets from the Caucasus, The Russian Collections, pl. 100 where a carpet with an almost identical field design is attributed to the village of Gadrut, Nagorny Karabakh and at the time of publication could be seen in the Museum of the History of Armenia, Yerevan, no. 9134.

Soft handle.
