The ushnisha is relatively flat and broad.The Ding kiln in Hebei province produced white porcelain with elegant ivory-white hue and was counted one of the five classic wares of Song China.

There are various vertical indents and minor scuffing across the surface of the ivory and a crack in the top right-hand corner of the painting. The painting is ornately framed and glazed. The frame has some minor knocks and losses commensurate with age.
