An early 20th century Burroughes & Watts Ltd. cardboard box containing three ivory billiard balls, two white and one red CONDITION REPORTS Balls : All in used condition. Red ball appears to have some slight splitting running with the grain to one side (see photos). White balls : both have slightly yellowed and both have some small splits running along the grain to both sides (see photos), splitting is clearly worse on one white ball than the other (see photos). Box is in very poor condition, large amount of rubbing throughout, lid is ripped and has been poorly sellotaped along one end, and the other end is completely missing, splits and general deterioration to cardboard lid on all corners and edges, bottom is very stained with wear, rubbing and splitting to all corners and edges of box.
A box of miscellaneous items to include three ivory billiard balls, a cold painted bronze of a horse, a No. 2 folding pocket brownie camera CONDITION REPORTS Ivory billiard balls : with black surface markings and pitting, all three with some splits and cracking, and staining, and one in particular with significant staining - this ball also with three significant early signs of splitting, each ball is approx. 15 cm diameter. Cold painted bronze : has a dirty patinated overall finish, scratching to paintwork throughout, base of the tail has split but is still intact. Folding camera : with overall age wear, the outer case with scuffs to the corners. Vase : has denting and knocks to base, a pinhead size chip to the bottom, and various other knocks and bumps throughout. Cards : appear in reasonable condition, but the box is very damaged, with a section along the edge missing altogether and has been poorly re-glued. Three oval frames - knocks and bumps throughout, picture of the girl - some slight foxing and very dirty around the whole of the outer edge of picture where it has sat under the frame, one of the oval frames has no glass, one frame has chip to glass on the edge and the photograph in this frame is very faded and discoloured throughout. Pipe : has chip all along the main opening.
A box of miscellaneous sundry items to include an early 20th century onyx ashtray with carved ivory elephant decoration, together with an early 20th century Art Nouveau style ink stand, a collection of Bi-laws for the Regulation of the Prince of Wales Lodge No. 259, two pairs of binoculars, a carved soap stone and alabaster figure, etc
A 19th Century mahogany and satinwood strung side cabinet, the rectangular reeded edge top over a cockbeaded drawer with ivory escutcheon and a pair of cupboards enclosing shelves on splayed bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Overall appears to be reasonably sound, but has general knocks, bumps and scratches throughout conducive to age, quite a deep scratch running in from the right-hand side on the top approx. 7 cm long, area of beading missing to top edge of drawer approx. 2 cm, above the top of the drawer there are at least two or three areas of veneer missing which have chipped off, the largest being approx. 2 cm x 1 cm, but there are also several other small areas, right-hand main door at the top has an area of damage underneath the metal strip top right corner approx. 3 cm x 2 cm to edge, has clearly been a patch repair in the past to the top edge of door on the corner approx. 10 cm x 2 cm but appears to have been professionally done and is not visible when door is shut, varnish is quite faded in areas and there is scratching throughout above the left-hand door, between the drawer and the door there are two areas of veneer missing altogether approx. 2 cm x 2 cm and 2 cm x 4 cm, left-hand door all along the back edge has split and dried out leaving a gap of approx. 0.5 cm running from the top to the bottom of the decoration (see photos), the other door is also starting to shrink, the inner panel coming away from the outer decoration particularly on the inner edge (similar to the other door, but not quite as bad), there is a split to the bottom apron veneer vertically down approx. 5 cm long, feet show general knocks and bumps. Overall, although appears sound, there are numerous other small knocks, bumps and areas of splitting and varnish missing throughout.
A pair of George III silver bright cut engraved sugar tongs, a set of six silver apostle teaspoons, Sheffield 1895 by Mappin & Webb, cased (lacking sugar tongs), together with a silver and ivory handled christening knife and fork, cased (lacking spoon), silver Fiddle, Thread and Shell pattern christening fork and spoon and two other spoons.
A collection of 19th Century Continental ivory doll`s house furniture, comprising settee, three chairs, centre table, worktable and a bonheur-du-jour, each with carved and pierced foliate decoration, the worktable hinge lid pierced with inscription `Jschr` and similarly red printed mark to centre table.
