λ John Hayter RA (1800-1895). A portrait miniature on ivory of Hon. Miss Calder, in a gilt metal frame, together with a Victorian tortoiseshell and white metal mounted compact, the hinged lid with a painted portrait of a young lady, together with a leather pill box, the lid decorated with a squirrel, 8cm (max). (3) Provenance: From the estate of the late Lady Dodds.

λ A collection of minerals, comprising: ninety numbered specimens with hand-written paper labels, some attached with printed trade labels, inscribed 'Sold by G. B. SOWERBY 156 Regent Street', contained in a mahogany case, with an ivory escutcheon and with three trays, each containing thirty smaller card trays, first half of 19th century and later, 16.8cm high, 34.5cm wide, 29.3cm deep. George Bretting Sowerby (1788-1854) was a naturalist, illustrator and conchologist and was the second son of James Sowerby. He catalogued the Earl of Tankerville's collection of shells and dealt in shells and natural history objects initally in King Street, Covent Garden, then moved to Regent Street and finally to Great Russell Street.

LTD.' with the original outer sleeve, together with three umbrellas with ivory handles, two by Paragon, one with a carved briar style handle with gilt metal mounts, one with a silver mounted handle, hallmarked for '1939' and one with a plain turned handle, 91cm (max). A Queen Anne needlework picture by Rebecca Grant, worked with coloured silks on an ivory silk ground with various stitches and raised stumpwork, depicting Ceres or Plenty standing on a foliage decorated rug, above a mermaid with a sailing ship before mountains and cacti, flanked by a parrot in a tree, a snail, a castle, a recumbent lion and a stag, with insects and an angel, signed and dated 'Rebecca Grant 1709', 25.8 x 38.8cm, in a later glazed gilt frame. Provenance: Purchased by the current vendor from Mallett. The Property of a Gentleman.

An early 19th Century KPM pot pourri vase and cover, twin-handled ovoid body, floral encrusted cover, raised on cabriole legs united by quadraform under tier with floral encrusted cover (af), body decorated with cartouche of Bacchus in profile on a gilt-highlighted ivory ground, marked to base, 18 cm highLid is very dusty and has large chips and breakage. Poor attempt at restoration and residue present. Body overall in good condition. Slight crack to the base and spots of rubbing to the gilt. Light scuffs and scratches consistent with age and general usage. Some very small chips and rubbing to the base and rim.

A Royal Worcester twin-handled pedestal vase and cover, ovoid form with mask and scroll handles, knopped socle and square base with notched corners, cover with moulded finial, shape 1572, hand painted still life with fruit by John Freeman, moulded gilt and ivory borders, signed, black mark to base, 27 cm highBase and finial restored.No noticeable cracks or chips. Several light scratches consistent with age. Rubbing to the base. Gilt has been retouched and restoration to paint work.
