A pair of Negretti & Zambra opera glasses, cased, ivory mounted, circa 1900. CONDITION REPORT: The opera glasses are in generally very good condition. The ivory to the main body of each lens is in extremely good order with good colour. The ivory around one eye piece is in perfect condition. The second eye piece has very small nibbles to the bottom edge of the turning where this joins the brass barrel. This is very minor and in our opinion insignificant. The tortoiseshell appears in good order. The lenses seem to be in good condition and focus as they should. The brassware is in reasonable condition but has lost approximately 50% of the original lacquered finish. The case is a little tired. It is rubbed at the extremities and the interior lining is perished in places.
