Matchbox Superfast No. 31a Lincoln Continental. This example shows a later regular wheel sea green body with 'no. 2' stamped underneath the bonnet, clear windows with punched roof rivet, ivory interior and unpainted base with tow guide. Wheels are narrow 'hollow' issues. Rivets and base look to be tightly secured with no obvious sign of glue residue however rear rivet looks a little 'clean'. Since the variation is such an elusive piece and with some other features differing to known other examples, it renders any outright authenticity claim extremely difficult to make hence is likely code 3 (first purchased in 1980's). The listing provides the specification as shown but we welcome further inspection, scrutiny and feedback prior to auction.
