John Pleydell-Bouverie was the son of Jacob, 4th Earl of Radnor and his wife, daughter of James Walter Grimston, 1st Earl of Verulam. The Hon Mrs John Pleydell-Bouverie was the daughter of Lt-Gen Robert Mallaby who served in the Bombay Staff Corps; she married Lt Col The Hon. John Pleydell-Bouverie in 1882 and was widowed in 1925. John and Grace Pleydell-Bouverie cased. Dirt under the glass of both, Generally in good condition.

Atrributed to Frederick Buck of Cork (Irish, 1771-1833) Portrait miniature of Ensign William Lindsey, of the Grenadier Company of the 97th Queen's Own German Regiment of Foot, c.1814, 6.5 cm (2.5in), watercolour on ivory; and his wife Mrs Lindsey (nee Philpot), pencil and watercolour, 7.5 cm (3in) (2) Provenance: Monks Hall, Syleham, Suffolk Other Notes: William Lindsey was commissioned as an Ensign in the 97th Queen's Own German Regiment Foot on the 19th May, 1814 and was placed on Half Pay on 29th January, 1818. The Queen's Own German Regiment had the precedence regimental number of the 97th Foot from 1805 until 1816, when they were re-numbered as the 96th Foot, until they were disbanded in 1818. Loss of paint in the left side of the sitter's hair. Some fading of colour throughout. John Philpot: Support cut down to the left and right hand sides. Old frame marks visible around edges. Dirt under the glass. Some fading.
19TH CENTURY CARVED IVORY STUDY OF A RECUMBENT LION, with his tail over his back, crossed paws and exposed teeth, on a rectangular moulded plinth with canted angles. 9.3cm long. CONDITION REPORT: Rather grubby and discoloured, some cracks with age visible, he may have had a tongue which is not in evidence now, crack through front left paw, minor chips and one particular chip around base rim.
TWO SIMILAR EARLY 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE CARVED IVORY FIGURES OF DEITIES with animals, the one bearded figure holding a cat, offering a morsel, the other figure smiling with a puppy climbing on his shoulder. Approx. 18cm high. Later wooden bases. (2) CONDITION REPORT: The cat figure has its peg locating to base broken off, some cracks with age and discolouring.
PAIR OF CARVED IVORY STUDIES OF BUDGERIGARS OR PARAKEETS PERCHING, now on modern hardwood stands with shaped bases, probably Japanese. (2) 21cm high overall, the birds 16cm. CONDITION REPORT: One has blue staining underneath, the other black, similar, may have originally been painted, no obvious damage or significant losses. One seems to have a crescent shaped crack near his right eye.
MID VICTORIAN SILVER, ENGINE TURNED, TEAPOT TOGETHER WITH MATCHING COFFEE POT of circular, squat form, London, 1857, maker's mark: Robert Garrard II, with additional mark: Garrard's, Panton Street, London, and numbered 32, having ivory and wooden handles and finials. 47 Troy ozs overall, approx. 19.8cm high, the tallest. (2) CONDITION REPORT: The teapot handle looks to have been replaced as it's the only part being wooden as opposed to the other finials and handles being ivory. Surface wear, scratches, as expected, but no obvious, significant, major losses or damage. Interiors are grubby, cracks to the ivory overall, hallmarks good, the Garrard's mark rubbed to the edges.
GOOD QUALITY CARVED IVORY HANDLED PARASOL, copiously carved with trailing vines and grapes, the parasol silk with silk tassels, in a fitted cotton sleeve bag. Probably European, Dieppe. 65cm long. CONDITION REPORT: The ivory appearing good overall, no obvious significant damage, the parasol itself is stained in places, but basically good.
LATE GEORGIAN, REGENCY PERIOD MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID TORTOISESHELL BOW FRONTED TEA CADDY, having hinged sarcophagus type cover, revealing two compartments to the interior with ivory knobs and banding, the body with further mother-of-pearl foliate and inset decoration flanked by three quarter pilasters to the angles, standing on ivory feet. 18 x 11 x 13cm high approx. CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition for its age, no immediately apparent damage or losses, bun feet are cracked through.
