An unusual early 18th century crimson-stained, ivory snuff box, of shallow oval form, with gilt metal hinges and pique work decoration, the main cover with a smaller hinged oblong cover within, in unstained ivory, decorated with a formal pique work flower, revealing a compartment for patches and inset with a mirror, unmarked, 1700-1720, 3.5in (9cm) wide.
