Head also repaired. Lid has one large crack to rim and a small hairline to edge. Base has been reattached with seccotine. Seccotine present and ripped round foot. Body in good condition.

An 18th century South Staffordshire or Bilston enamel heart shaped etui c.1765of tapering heart shape, the body repousse decorated with painted reserves containing putti in an Arcadian landscape, doves, arrow struck double heart, and a crossed bow and arrow quiver, the hinged lid with a bird and fruit on a ledge, raised C-scroll tooled gilt borders against a white ground with scattered floral sprays and bianco-sopra-bianco panels, gilt metal mounts and push button release hinged cover, enclosing a near complete fitted interior with a faceted glass phial, an ivory aide memoire, tweezers and file, gilt metal ear wax scoop, folding ruler and a compassheight 10.5 cm.Condition: Glass phial with small chips round rim and not cap or stopper. Four accessories absent. Hairlines to enamel on rear mainly to rear of lid. Hairlines also present to base and edges of the lid near gilt mounts and interior of lid. Gilt metal mount slightly pushed on base edge. No signs of restoration or losses to enamel.

A 17th/18th century Indo-Portuguese inlaid hardwood table top cabinet with fall enclosing an interior with one long drawer, four short drawers and one deep drawer, profusely decorated throughout in ivory, bone and wood with borders of scrolling foliate motifs and geometric panels, on four bun feet, height 17cm, width 27.5cm, depth 20cm.Additional InformationThere is a large section of the fall lacking around the lock plate and there are other losses to the detailing to the centre section of the front, there are losses to the edge detailing on the right hand front corner and upright and also to the two back corners, there is also some geometric detailing lacking to the upper section and the right hand section of the front edges of the cabinet, other losses to the decoration here and there throughout, the bun feet may not be original and have flat head screws holding them in, the interior is a strong colour and in much better condition, one of the handles to the drawers is lacking, these handles are not original, general rusting to the hinges of the fall, despite faults overall appearance is ok.

19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL; watercolour on ivory miniature, portrait of a maiden in a white dress with a red shawl, 9.25 x 7.5cm, with a watercolour on ivory miniature of a lady with ringlets, cracked, a further watercolour and gouache miniature of a lady in a blue and white dress with central pink flower, a two sided gilt metal miniature pendant, one side with a sketch of a maiden and the other of a maiden with a lace bonnet reading a book, and a printed miniature in gilt metal brooch frame (5).Additional InformationThe largest of the lady in the white dress is lightly grubby internally and slightly bowed to the panel and appears to be slightly rubbed to the face and with some foxing, the lady with ringlets the ivory is cracked to the left hand side and has dark marks throughout most of the edge, the third miniature of the lady in the blue and white dress is slightly curved, the double sided miniature, one of the portraits has a slight tear and several creases, the other side the paper has generally browned throughout, the brooch miniature is discoloured and marked throughout, all frames with general wear and rubbing.
