A Japanese ivory okimono of a peacock, Meiji period, standing upon rockwork with peony, the eyes inlaid with mother of pearl and horn, signed, 10.7cmCondition report: 192.3 grams. Good overall condition, with small possible losses to exposed corners. No obvious damage, although it may originally have had a larger crest on its head. See images for further clarification.

Col. Montagu Cleeve (1894-1933), who was a neighbour.Condition report: General wear to the pieces, commensurate with age, with some likely replacement parts. Height of Kings in chess set: 7.5cm. The case with light surface scratches throughout, visible on close inspection. The case and contents would benefit from a light clean.
