A George V silver and enamel cased dressing set London 1928, maker Mappin & Webb, the silver mounted set with turquoise bassetaille enamel decoration, comprising four hair and clothes brushes, tortoiseshell comb, hand mirror, shoe horn, button hook and four etched and cut glass jars & bottles, plus a sea-green leather jewellery box, in the original sea-green leather case with ivory silk interior and leather edged mirror inside the lid, case faded.
A 1920s Continental enamelled silver dressing set with `925` Sterling mark and import mark for 1927, comprising a hand mirror, two hair brushes, two clothes brushes, button hook, shoe horn, cut glass circular pot and two cut glass bottles, all with pink guilloche enamel decoration, and each with a watercolour on ivory plaque depicting classical maidens and putti. A Fiji Islands whale tooth necklace first half of 20th century, comprised of thirty finely carved longitudinal sections of marine ivory each curving gracefully and tapering to a fine point and drilled at the end for suspension to a whitemetal cord, the terminal of each tooth with a decorative pierced whitemetal mount, diameter 10.5in (27cm), the longest tooth 4in (10cm) long.
An Anglo-Indian ivory, sandalwood and sadeli inlaid glove box 19th century, the lid decorated in a radial pattern in alternating bands of ivory and sandalwood with sadeli roundels, the sides similarly decorated in stripes, 11 x 4.25in (28 x 11cm), together with another similar box in ivory veneer with sadeli roundels and banding, a sadeli and ivory card case and a similar note card holder. A good 19th century Indian sandalwood workbox, carved in low relief with elephants, wild animals, birds and foliage, within bands of ivory and mosaic work, the interior is substantially complete and again decorated with carving and mosaic work. With the box is an Indian customs document, dated 1863, it is referred to as a small workbox, valued at 30 rupees, being exported from Bombay. (See illustration)
