Title: The Kiss. Beautiful detailing in this cast metal relief sculpture with brown patina designed by Art Nouveau and Art Deco master craftsman Rene Lalique. This high relief depicts a nude couple kissing passionately. The head of the male projects from the surface that is covered with deeply carved foliage with branches fully protruding from the relief. This outstanding piece was acquired directly from the private collection of the descendants of Rene Lalique and has never been offered publicly. This chief model's final product was a brooch cast in gold with blue enamel leaves and faces carved from ivory. An example can be found in Le Musee Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon. A Georgian Enamel and Split Pearl Swivel Mourning Brooch the rectangular plaque enamelled to depict an urn and weeping willow, within a split pearl frame, in yellow claw settings, with a locket compartment to the reverse measures 2.5cm by 1.7cmThe brooch is in good condition with slight wear commensurate with age. It fastens with a pin and c-hook catch. Originally with ivory plaque to the reverse inscribed 'Adml Ld Nelson Frances D 21 Oct. 1805' which has been removed. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 6.8 grams. CR made 07.11.23.

The ivory with some cracking and discolouration. Some of the supports in the box are partly detached. There are some minor bruises to some pieces. The lid on the teapot and sugar-bowl don't close completely flush.

Each piece marked underneath with retailer's name; '90' standard mark and Chinese character mark. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some staining, discolouration and cracking to the ivory insulators on the handle of the teapot. The ivory insulator on the cover of the teapot similarly cracked and discoloured and further damage. There are some scuffs and marks to the case. The silk inside the case with some staining. There is a small wood section which sits inside the handle in the box that has become detached.

The base of one with a poorly executed solder repair. There is some excess solder to the foot and stem of this example. There is some cracking and discolouration to the ivory on each. There is some bruising overall. There is a repair to the hinge of one. The cover of this example does not close properly.

There is a bruise/repair to the foot of the coffee-pot. The ivory with some shrinkage, discolouration and cracking. The handle on the coffee-pot is somewhat loose. There are some scratches and scuffs to the case.
