Leaves with pencil writing. Slight staining to ivory overall. No damages. Plain aide memoire - leaves slightly stained. Overall condition good. Box - parts dissembled but in good condition. Arched panel - section broken at end and lacking. Otherwise good.
A 19th century mother-of-pearl fan, with decorative pierced and painted decoration, and a hand coloured paper mount depicting figures in a pastoral landscape, and children by a tree to the reverse, 26cm; an ivory fan with mother-of-pearl mounts to guards, pierced and painted decoration to the sticks, with a paper mount hand coloured depicting an angel and a maiden, with floral border, and maiden and two angels in repose to the reverse, both initialled FC No 389 and 338, 20cm (2) Provenance: A Private European Collector Mother of pearl fan; both guards have been cracked and one reglued. Numerous cracks to the sticks, decoration rubbed. Several rips and tears along the folds, and to the upper edges, some staining, taped repairs to the reverse. Small ivory fan; mother of pearl mount has been made up. so some previous holes visible, chips and scuffings. Sticks stained, decoration rubbed. Paper mount ripped, and painted and repaired in several places, numerous repairs to the reverse, staining and tears.

Sir Walter Raleigh, a 19th century electrotype copy of a 1584 wax seal die, produced from the original die now in British museum, the calamander circular box with crest to lid opening to reveal electrotype negative numbered on reverse 106 and copper positive impression to the base of box with ivory set border band, the underside of the box initialled with gothic M B electrotype 5.5cm diameter, box 7.7cm diameter, 2.5cm high. Other Notes: In 1904 Crichton Brothers (London) donated three seal matrices of Sir Walter Raleigh and made up to 600 copies for subscribers and this piece may be one of those.
