A COMPOSED ART DECO WALNUT VENEERED DINING SUITE, comprising:- a shaped rectangular dining table, with double canted corners, burr walnut cross banding and moulded rim raised on twin pedestal supports. 183 x 92cm; - a set of eight upholstered dining chairs with rectangular panel backs and sides, covered in ivory damask fabric and raised on square tapering legs (6 single and 2 elbow chairs);- a cocktail cabinet with raised lift top and drop-front revealing a mirror lined interior, flanked by twin glazed door cupboards and twin panel door cupboard below. 125cm high x 134cm wide;- an octagonal lift-top side cabinet, baise lined with compartments above a recessed pedestal cabinet with single panel door enclosing a pull-out shelved interior. 74 x 53 x 77cm high;- together with a walnut and rosewood adjustable two-tier serving trolley. 78 x 38cm;- and a circular walnut veneered nest of occasional tables, the four quadrant small tables nesting beneath the large table. 65.5cm diameter
A 19th century Chinese Canton carved ivory fan, the guards each blind carved with figure scenes and mythical beasts, the nineteen sticks each finely carved with busy figure landscape and pagoda scenes, having vacant central cartouche, 19cm Condition Report / Extra Information Some sticks with small number of minor losses to pierced gauze. One stick chipped upper left. Guards with some yellowing.
A circa 1900 Chinese carved and pierced ivory puzzle ball on stand, comprising eight finely carved spheres, the turned stand supported by standing female to carved circular base, signed verso, h.22cm Condition Report / Extra Information Significant damage to first inner sphere. Outside of ball generally good with minor handling wear and yellowing. Stand with some yellowing.
Attributed to Paul Heermann (1673-1732) - Cupid pissing, ivory relief carving, signed with monogram lower centre, 12.5 x 9.1cm, in later ebonised mount and silk and velvet lined leather case, the carving is based on a 1640 etching by Joachim von Sandrart the elder (1606-1688) Condition Report / Extra Information Three vertical hairlines from top. Spectacles rim missing to right eye. Otherwise ivory appears good and complete. Later case with age wear.
An early 19th century mourning jewel, the obverse as an English school portrait miniature of a gentleman wearing blue tunic and silk ruff, watercolour on ivory, in yellow metal mount, the reverse having plait of hair modelled as an ear of wheat, within a yellow metal and blue glass border, 8.5 x 7cm, all housed in ebonised frame Condition Report / Extra Information Minor paint losses to extremities at 4 o'clock. Further minor paint losses to coat collar. Miniature is grubby. Plait of hair with some loose parts. Glass good. Yellow metal mount good. Ebonised frame with minor handling wear, chipped top right corner.

dating: first quarter of the 19th Century provenance: London Curved, single-and false-edged blade with wide fuller, finely engraved (areas of rust and scrapings) with the inscription (not completely legible) "Presented by the Officers of the 2nd Battn 66 Regt to Major Kelly 4th Ceylon Corps (their late Commanding Officer) as a Mark of their Highest Respect and Esteem" surrounded by figures and floral motifs, on the other side the inscription "PORTUGAL 16 January 1811" among figures, trophies and floral motifs; silver-plated hilt, langets with oak branches, angled pommel in the shape of a lion head, neck and cap with scales, rosette and leaves, micro-checkered, ivory grip with silver ring-nut decorated with laurel oak branches; wooden scabbard with shagreen covering, beautiful, silver mounts finely engraved with trophies and floral motifs, each hilt featuring a bas-relieved medal depicting Hercules with the Nemea lion, Victory and Justice; the back decorated en suite and featuring the manufacturer's name "OLIPHANT & SON LONDON". Snake-shaped knuckle guard. London, silver stamps and "TS" stamp probably standing for Thomas Shekleton.The Lieutenant Colonel Richard Kelly enlisted in the41st Regiment of Foot the 12th of January 1799, then in 1802 in the 66th (Berkshire) Regiment of Foot; in 1809 he arrived in Portugal and, after the Senior Official was gravely wounded, he led the Regiment for two years. He guided the Regiment during the battle of Talavera and, after being wounded, he was honored with the Gold Medal. He left the 66th Regiment in 1811 (his officials gave him this outstanding sabre in this occasion) and he enlisted the 4th Regiment with the rank of Major and he ended his career becoming Lieutenet Colonel in the 83rd Regiment (County of Dublin) of Foot.
