A Chinese silk robe, Qing Dynasty, late 19th century, intricately embroidered with coloured silks and gold and metal threads depicting court scenes in vignettes, with flowers, bats and butterflies to the blue silk ground, with calligraphy to each of the ivory silk sleeve bands, amongst scenes of mountains, forest and pagodas, with black border to the edges, embroidered with metal thread, detailing flowers within repeated scrolling design, black detail to the yoke, side splits to the base of the robe and with a fushia silk lining, 177 by 110cm.
