Very finely woven with close clipped velvety wool; soft handle.

Attractive Kurdish runner, north west Persia, dated 1340 AH [1921 AD] 13ft. 10in. X 3ft. 4in. Overall even wear with corrosion to dark brown in places. The dark brown field with centre stepped pole medallion in plain colours of pale blue; light pink/red; pale green; dark green and mid-blue, outlined in ivory; filler ornaments of small boteh; main border of multi-coloured stripes; the ivory linked medallion guards with a tribesman in the inner guards at the top end. Soft palette and relatively soft handle.
