THOMAS JOHNSON I; a Victorian hallmarked silver rimmed horn beaker with glass bottom, London 1878, with applied vacant cartouche, height 12.5cm, a silver bladed and ivory bodied letter opener, stamped 'SIL', set with two garnet coloured stones, and a horn quaich set with an oval cut amethyst in yellow metal mounts to each handle (3).
Three ebonised walking sticks to include a foliate scroll engraved silver handled example hallmarked for Chester 1915, a further example with wooden handle and a rosewood shafted marine ivory handled example, length 88cm (5). CONDITION REPORT: All with dents, scratches, chips and losses, one example with later rubber end, please see additional images.
Three Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimonos, one depicting a man seated upon a Dog of Fo with a further dog beside rocks, with associate bone base carved with character marks, height 20.5cm, a man carrying branches, inset lacquered seal to the base, and a net maker, height 23cm (all af) (3). CONDITION REPORT: The net maker figure has been broken in approximately one third of the height and crudely reglued, the man carrying branches has losses to items held in his hands, left hand has been broken off and reglued, some losses to the branches and leaves, left foot broken off and crudely reglued with some losses to outside part, the base reglued to the right foot, the figure group with Dogs of Fo with losses to the top (blade of the sword held by man) and to piece of his robe to the back, all with surface wear and some natural splits.
Two late 19th and early 20th century bibles with ivory front and back covers, the larger with carrying case (2). CONDITION REPORT: The smaller and later bible with numerous chips to the ivory, particularly on the spine, both with wear and tear commensurate with age throughout including to the book sections.

CONDITION REPORT: Ivory handled example with misshapen bowl and slightly crimped rim, surface scratches to all three.

An 18th Century Indo-Persian Matchlock Rampart Gun, the 112cm sighted steel barrel finely chiselled with a tiger hunt and wrythen bands of flowers, and with silver wire barrel bands, the similarly decorated side plates terminating in peacocks, the hard wood full stock with stepped and slender butt, all inlaid with formal foliage in ivory and mother of pearl and painted in gold with palmettes, with two steel sling swivels and ramrod, 158cm. Action works. Minor loss of inlay to butt. Three cracks to underside of fore-end, with small slivers of wood missing along the barrel. Good quality and in clean condition.
An Early 19th Century Turkish Yataghan, the blade inlaid in gold with panels of text, possibly from the Koran, with a narrow fuller running along the back edge, the bolster with silver flower studded decoration, the marine ivory earred grip with similarly decorated silver backstrap, the black leather scabbard with coiled metal stitching to the seam, 75cm. Some black patching and minor pitting to the blade. Age cracks to the marine ivory grip. The coiled metal stitching to the scabbard seam is coming undone slightly towards the tip.
An Early 19th Century Turkish Yataghan, the 65.5 cm single edge curved steel blade engraved with a band of script and strapwork panel and with a narrow fuller to the back edge, the gilt filigree bolster set with facetted amber beads, the marine ivory eared hilt with coral set back strap, with brass mounted leather scabbard and frog, 87cm. Some black patching and pitting to the blade. Age cracks and chips to the marine ivory grip, Numerous small dents to the brass mounts of the scabbard.
An 1828 Pattern Scottish Basket Hilt Broadsword, the 87cm 18th century steel blade engraved to both sides with martial trophies and with a hatched medieval cross within an ornamental frame, with single central fuller, the hilt of traditional form with cushion fluted pommel, the unusual ivory grip carved with a fish, insect, leaves and berries, lacks scabbard, 101cm. The blade, which is earlier than the hilt, has significant rust and corrosion in patches. Some evidence of regrinding to one edge in particular. Hilt with rusting and corrosion. Grip with numerous cracks and splits to ivory and small areas of staining.
A 19th Century Sinhalese Pia-Ketta, the 20cm single edge clip point steel blade with gold foliate inlaid decoration to the narrow fuller running along the back edge, with foliate cast and chased bolster, the foliate carved ivory grip scales with foliate chiselled white metal pommel, 31.5cm, lacks scabbard . Pitting to blade, particularly at the tip.
An 18th Century North African Miquelet Lock Jezail, the 111.5cm round steel barrel with gold diapered koftgari decoration, the action and trigger guard with similar decoration, the dark wood full stock with five foliate embossed silver silver gilt barrel bands, the swept butt with ivory butt plate, with steel ramrod, 147cm. Cannot get gun to hold at full and half cock, very stiff. Minor bruising to stock. Ivory butt plate is chipped to the edge.

Runckel, Solingen, the gilt brass stirrup hilt with chequered ivory grip and langets engraved with fouled anchors, the black leather scabbard with engraved brass mounts, the locket inscribed, Brunn, Sword Cutler to the Prince Regent and H.R.H. the Duke of Clarence, 56 Charing Cross, London, with twin ring suspensions, 86.5cm. Blade with significant patches of rust and pitting, some encroaching on blade edge. Hilt with dings. Grip with cracks and small losses. Scabbard leather limp and with some degradation to leather. Small dents to mounts. Frog stud lacking.
A George III Officer's Spadroon, the 83cm double edge diamond section steel blade engraved on both sides with the Royal Coat of Arms and inscription ''FOR MY COUNTRY & KING'', the gilt brass stirrup hilt with pierced curved guard, scroll quillon and cushion shape baluster pommel, the reeded ivory grip inset with a brass oval escutcheon, lacks scabbard, 98cm, together with an associated booklet . Blade with dark patina, tiny nicks to edge, rounded tip. Hilt has some damage to the ivory around the brass escutcheon and has wear to the gilding. Lacks scabbard

A French ivory, silk and gilt metal parasol by Dupuy of Paris, third quarter 19th century, the tapered ivory handle with folding mechanism and carved monogram or cartouche, the silk canopy supported by gilt metal stretchers and with ivory tips and knopped finial, the gilt metal band around the shaft engraved DUPUY 8 RUE DE PAIX PARIS, 66cm high extended; a mother-of-pearl and ivory inset ebonised wood Nécessaire, second half 19th century, of tapered rectangular form, the hinged cover gold painted with foliate borders and a central cartouche monogrammed U, opening to a velvet lined interior with ivory and metal sewing implements, 13cm high, 7cm wide; and two French or English figural ivory reliefs, possibly representing saints, probably 19th century, mounted on fabric and leather covered cards, 8.5cm high, 4.5cm wide CATALOGUE NOTES: Dupuy was one of the most exclusive parasol makers in 19th century Paris, known for their carved ivory handles.
