Sultanabad Carpet West Iran, circa 1920 The tomato red field of diamond lattice design containing stylised palmettes and vines enclosed by indigo borders of stylised meandering floral vines flanked by ivory spandrels, 370cm by 291cm Both ends with web but some discolouration and losses. Piled ends complete. Selvedges original and complete. Pile generally very good. Slightly low in one diamond in field.
