Kurdish long rug, north west Persia, early 20th century, 9ft. 11in. X 4ft. 4in. 3.02m. X 1.32m. Slight wear in places; small crease marks. Note the two animals in the centre of the mid-blue field which is filled with two columns of large hexagonal medallions surrounded by assorted filler medallions; ivory main border and mid-blue outer border. Flatwoven ends, the top end also braided. Fabric strips each end verso. Lustrous wool and good varied palette.
Khamseh rug, Fars, south west Persia, early 20th century, 6ft. 2in. X 4ft. 1in. 1.88m. X 1.25m. Overall wear. A rug of rich colour and exceptional design of variously coloured pecking chicken, with different coloured legs arranged around a central square medallion. Various floral and bird filler motifs; moharammat design spandrels and ivory stepped medallion main border; chequerboard ends. Velvety wool and soft handle.

The central rectangular panel with small animals around a central large flowerhead; ivory main border of gol-farangi style flowers; complete with closing loops and narrow banded flatweave back; Qashqa'i khorjin, Fars, south west Persia, circa 1920s, with closing loops and plainweave back, 3ft. 8in. (opened) x 2ft. 1.12m. (opened) x 0.61m. Some wear; small old moth damage and small repairs. Note the tiny animals hiding in the dark blue field and a Kurdish khorjin, north west Persia, last quarter 19th century, 3ft. 5in. (opened) x 1ft. 10in. 1.04m. (opened) x 0.55m. Attractive design of flowerheads within ivory diamond shape medallions up the centre of the runner with boteh motifs on a dark brown field; light green main border.

Ivory field with central pale blue medallion depicting two confronting dragons; variety of auspicious objects in the field; the main border of mountain and mask design. Lustrous wool and soft handle.

Cream wool woven with dark brown motifs, together with a Nigerian Hausa cotton blanket woven with blue and red details; another cream cotton blanket woven with dark brown rectangles and two other cotton blankets in shades of blue and cream or ivory. Very finely woven with superb design of cypress trees among tree of life and bid majnun (weeping willow) trees on an ivory field; dark blue leaf and flowerhead main border. Lustrous wool and soft handle.
