A carved ivory pyxis tubular container with rims above and below, expanding-arm cross in a rectangular frame supported by winged angels, smaller cross above their feet; domed lid with eight square windows and reserved voided cross fill, cruciform lid with concentric rings. A carved D-section rectangular ivory panel with hatched reverse, notched border, scene of huntsmen and lions attacking each other, the hunters spearing the beasts some of whom lay dead with the weapons embedded. 85 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Property of a London lady, part of her family's Swiss collection; formerly acquired in the 1980s. Possibly not representing a hunt in the wild but a gladiatorial combat where bestiarii or venatores attack wild animals in the colosseum. [No Reserve] Fine condition, repaired.

A late 18th century officer's 5 ball hilted spadroon, straight fullered blade 32½", with traces of maker's name (?) at forte, and crowned GR cypher in fuller on both sides, steel hilt with traces of plating, plain crossguard and quillon, slender knucklebow incorporating the 5 balls, facetted urn shaped pommel, facetted ivory grip with traces of panelling. A Third Reich Army officer's dagger, by WKC Solingen, the hilt with grey metal mounts, the crosspiece engraved with the owner's name "A. Schlenker", and with yellow faux ivory grip, in its sheath. GC (the grip has been broken and repaired, light rust stains to blade, patch of corrosion to sheath).
