A Japanese carved ivory okimono of the Arhat, Handaka Sonja, Meiji period (1868-1912), standing upon a rocky outcrop, holding a bowl in his right hand from which a dragon has emerged, 8½in. (21.6cm.) high. * Condition: Slight fading to colour to front of ivory - the back of the figure has a deeper yellow patina. Three natural cracks have appeared to the ivory to the tai and left back leg of the dragon. There is another to the Arhat's left foot and a long hairline crack to the left side of the rock. There are no chips or repairs.
An Art Deco bronze and ivory figure of a boy with a toboggan, 1920s, with dark brown patination, the boy with carved ivory face, dressed in a warm coat and scarf, towing his toboggan, on a white naturalistic marble base, 6¼in. (15.8cm.) high. * Condition: Very good overall - minor wear to patination to edges, staining to rough marble edges. No other faults.
A large 17th century stump work and crewel work panel, the central panel with stump and crewel work floral decoration on an ivory ground, worked in silk and metal threads, flanked by two smaller conforming panels, within dark red silk velvet borders with elaborate floral designs in gold thread, 96½ x 34½in. (245 x 87.5cm.), damaged. * Condition: Original, but distressed condition. Possibly reduced in width or adapted from a larger hanging in the 18th century. The ivory ground panels had a large number of birds incorporated within the design originally - these have all disappeared, apparently through insect damage, which appear to have specifically targeted them. The 'shapes' of the birds can still be seen on the ivory ground. There is some wear and losses to the embroidery throughout. The red borders also have heavy wear to the velvet and some wear/losses to the threads. There are two large holes/splits to the velvet to the top centre and top right corner and some smaller holes and splits elsewhere. Some losses from the gold thread outer edging, particularly to the top edge.
Two very fine quality ivory desk seals of clasped hands design, 19th century, both having melon top, one with vertical sections, the other with spiral sections, 3½ & 3 3/8in. (9 & 8.6cm.) long, together with a similar single hand version holding a column, 3in. (7.6cm.) long. (3) *Condition: All well detailed showing light surface wear or and natural fractures.
A Turkish Oushak rug, second half 20th century, with multiple geometric and floral medallions on a green ground, within a broad ivory Herati style border, 122½ x 85in. (310 x 216cm.).* Condition: Good overall - pile is even as is colour, which remains strong. Minor stains but should easily clean. No other damage to note.
A Chinese export lacquered twin compartment tea caddy, 19th century, of octagonal form, decorated with alternating reserves of figures in interior and exterior settings and floral designs, atop a gilt floral band, the hinged cover with gilt-painted reserve depicting figures in a exterior setting, the rim with floral decorated reserves, opening to reveal twin metal canisters, etched with repeating stylised and floral design, the central raised circular covers opening to reveal inner lids with ivory knop finials, 7½in. (19cm.) long. *Condition: The middle left hand side reserve of main carcass, having decoration loss to front edge, light gilt loss to each edge of main carcass, the hinged cover with decoration loss to back high edge above hinge area, further gilt loss to high edges, overall fair/good, inner metal canisters with crumpled bodies and splits, tape repair to lower edge on one.
An Anglo Indian Vizagapatam picture frame, probably 19th century, the sandalwood easel back frame of shaped rectangular form with foliate ivory wavy edge fretwork, each corner having a foliate ink / penwork roundel, the arched top with shaped cartouche with Indian symbol, the frame with watercolour picture depicting a Indian scene to centre, 17 5/8in. (44.8cm.) high. * Condition: Small corner of ivory missing from bottom right corner of inner frieze, some tint splits, otherwise very good.
An Art Deco bronze and ivory figure of a dancer, 20.5cmCONDITION: There is a large crack running from the back of her head up and over and down over her left eye and face, also a small crack on her neck and another crack near the large one on her head. She is missing her left thumb and her left forefinger seems to have been restored as does her right forefinger. The base has several minor nicks/chips to corner and edges and also light surface scratches.
