A Japanese silver mounted ivory Shibayama decorated tankard with tusk handle. The body applied with gilded lacquer work, inset with mother of pearl and tiny pieces of gold depicting an exterior scene with cranes and song birds amidst foliage. Maker for London 1896. Frederick Elkington. 22cm high x 15 x 12cm wide.
An oval bust portrait miniature, of General Sir William Lockhart, Commander in Chief India 1894, watercolour on ivory, label verso, 6.5 x 5 cm Condition report Report by GH Ivory appears in good condition. No cracks or damage. No evidence of restoration. Image is clear and appears fresh, also with no damage. Some scratches and dents to frame. Occasional marks to the gold coloured mount. The paper with the inscription on the back of the painting is almost certainly not in period with the piece.

THOMAS CLEMENT THOMPSON R.H.A. (c. 1773 - 1857) Rectangular framed, oval portrait miniature on ivory, signed, dated 1805, portrait of a young Regency lady with dark hair in a white dress with blue ribbon, inscribed to verso, possibly in artist's hand, 'Painted by/ T. Clement Thompson/ 1805/ Belfast'. Thompson studied as a miniature painter in Belfast and Dublin. From 1809 onwards, it appears he abandoned miniature painting and focused on portrait painting in oil, later becoming a founding member of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1823, 7.4cm x 5.9cm.
