A George III sycamore and marquetry box, the sliding cover with chequer stringing and flower and leaf inlay, to a paper lined interior inset with twelve ivory disc shape receptacles, and two glass phials, the lid inscribed in pencil 'Rasors F P 1823', 1.25in (2.7cm) h, 7.5in (19cm) w, 5.5in (14cm) d. Old damages and restoration. The use of this box is unclear one theory is that it was an actor's make-up/rouge box. There are traces of paint to the interior so it could have also been used as a paint box.
A late Regency tortoiseshell rectangular tea caddy, with pewter stringing, the rounded edge hinged top with an applied brass plaque, the twin lidded interior with turned ivory handles, previously with feet, 4in (10cm) h, 7in (17.8cm) w. Later hinges and repositioned, minor stringing loss, damage to veneer of one lid.

A mahogany secretaire bookcase, the pierced open pediment above a Gothic arch frieze and a pair of lattice astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with a gadrooned edge above a hinged secretaire drawer inlaid an ebony and ivory parquetry star, the interior fitted with pigeon holes and drawers, above three graduated long drawer on tapering block feet, the cornice late 19th century, the top and base associated but late 18th century, 99.5in (252.5cm) h, 43in (109.3cm) w, 22in (56cm) d. Four panes cracked, old damages and restoration. Provenance: By repute the Glossop family. F. Levitt, Clarence House, Hull. Bought by W. G. Redfern Esq., Nordham, North Cave, 2nd May 1904. Subsequently at Culzean Castle, Ayrshire.
