A profusely decorated Chinese hardwood two-tier occasional square table with ivory/bone inlaid decoration, possibly late 19th or early 20th century, depicting figures, buildings and lake scenes to top, the under tier decorated with animals, trees and blossom with pierced under tier decoration and shaped legs decorated with ivory/bone inlaid with garlands.

New Callabarr by Robt Boy’d of Liverpool ...65’, and to reverse: ‘Duke Cullo Dash 60 Barrs..., 1 Jackett, a Lac’d Hatt &..., His Fathers dash 1..., 4 Brors, 20, Wife 6, Mate 20 & his...30, Barrs’, in two fragments, 12cm diameter
A tortoiseshell necessaire by Lund, 19th century, of oval form with a fitted velvet interior and contents including original propelling pencil etc., inscribed ‘Lund Maker, 56 & 57 Cornhill, London’, 11cm long There are examples of ivory discs associated with the slave trade across the Atlantic in museums, including the Merseyside Maritime Museum, however, the exact use of these discs is still unclear. The above disc appears to detail a specific transaction. New Callabarr was a former European trading post and was a centre of the slave trade in Nigeria. The description of the transaction lists not only the slaves, but wares known to be bartered, for example bars, either copper or iron, were an acknowledged form of currency.

Early 20th century Rat-tail pattern silver part canteen for eight place settings, comprising of eight table forks, table spoons, dessert forks and dessert spoons, two soup spoons, a pair of sugar tongs, a sugar sifter and a butter knife, also five table knives, two dessert knives and a five piece carving set (all with ivory handles). Hallmarked Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1912 (butter knife 1910, sugar sifter 1911). Gross weighable silver 75.83 ozt (2358.4 grams). Condition:
A cased Christening set (deficient of the spoon) with silver blade and fork and ribbed ivory handles, engraved monogram to the blade and fork mount. Hallmarks are very rubbed and near indistinguishable. Together with a cased set of nephrite jade handle teaspoons, three have carved terminals and gilt bowls. All stamped to the reverse of the bowl with sterling silver and a rubbed makers` mark. Also a silver handled knife and an ivory handle toasting fork, both hallmarked John Sanderson, Sheffield 1911. Condition:
Early twentieth century silver mounted ivory page turner with engraved monogram and magnifying glass terminal. Hallmarked Crisford & Norris Ltd Birmingham, the date letter either 1913 or 1938. Length measuring 13 3/4 inches (35 cm). Condition: The ivory page turner displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The ivory has some chips to the tip and a little loose in the silver mount. There is a dint to the top of the mount around the magnifying glass. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
