IVORY BOXES.Two Japanese ivory tusk boxes of the Meiji period (1868-1912), the largest carved in relief with lions, tigers, elephants & monkeys. Inset seal mark to base, the inner lid, carved a beetle, diameter 10cm. Also, one other similar box carved in high relief with lions hunting an elephant. Red seal mark to exterior & insect & bug marks to inner lid.
