A Victorian turned ivory chess set by Fentum, signed beneath the white king `Fentum, maker, 8 Hemmings Row, Leicester Square, London`, the king 5" high, together with an incomplete turned ivory set of backgammon pieces. Mr. Fentum`s ivory factory was one of the exhibitors at the Great Exhibition of 1851. Hemmings Row was pulled down in 1886.
