Bowie knife. Circa 1886 with horse head pommel which is Sheffield plate - stamped, as is the cross guard. Handle made of ivory (  ivory licence number LEWNLLF5)  . The blade is just over 10.5 inches in length and embossed , 'Call on me, in time of need' and 'You will find a friend in deed' The makers mark look to be 'E. Etres' The knife has a total overall length of around 16.5inches. With a leather scabbard which has shrunk, the knife is housed in a wood and velvet lined case, which is around 19 inches by 6.5inches.  Sold in its original fitted case. Frame has got damp and the material on the frame is in a poor state, various old worm holes in places.
