An Afghan Enssi rug first half 20th century, the four panels with plant motifs divided by a cross and with floral meander borders, within a conforming outer border and repeating diamond guard, worked in typical shades of madder, grey-brown, ivory and gold, 87 x 48in. (221 x 122cm.). *Condition: Some even fading to colours. Some damage to fringe in places to both ends and some old moth damage to pile to two corners and edges. Tiny hole to one corner.
An 18th century heart shaped gold, silver and ruby portrait pendant probably Continental, the portrait of a young lady in watercolour on ivory, wearing a yellow and white low cut dress and blue shawl and choker necklace, behind bevelled glass in a silver and yellow gold pendant mount, the bezel set with rectangular cut rubies, with pierced foliate hinged bale, 4.25 x 3.1cm.
A small Persian silk rug the ivory field with central floral pendant medallion and all over floral and vine decoration, with deep violet spandrels, within a floral meander border and conforming guards, in tones of ivory, deep violet, copper, light blue and light green, 53 x 30¼in. (134.5 x 77cm.). *Condition: One end very dusty and pile flattened, so it appears lighter unless the pile is brushed the right way. Staining to fringe to same end. Overall good.
^ Indian Chopper Dao from the Nagas of Assam, broad single edge pattern welded blade 46cms, wooden hilt partly covered with finely woven bamboo red lacquered overall, ivory pommel, in its red painted wooden scabbard open on one side and with remains of woven bamboo belt and with part of a tiger’s jaw attached. Good condition.
^ Naval Ratings Dirk c.1800, regulation curved single edge blade 45cms, cut a single narrow fuller, with inspector’s stamp and J&R MOLE, regulation brass mounts comprising recurved crosspiece and lion’s head pommel, ribbed ivory grip (cracked), in its brass mounted leather sheath. Good condition, leather replaced.
λ A condiment stand and three bottles 19th century, the turned wood stand on a revolving base, with bone or ivory strut supports, with three mallet-shaped bottles and matched stoppers, with four further small bottles or decanters, one engraved 'Vinegar', a small cut glass bottle and another small bottle inscribed 'Ketchup', some damages, 21.3cm max.
