A Small 19th Century Tortoiseshell Veneered Teacaddy. The scotia moulded lid having a raised rectangular centre panel and opening by means of a small release button to reveal an internal lid with ivory knop handle to the centre. The box standing on a ivory ball feet and measuring 4½ ins (11.5 cms) in height, 5 ins x 3 ins (13 cms x 8 cms).
A Large & Impressive 18th Century Marquetry Cassoné. The cedar wood lid inlaid with an oval figured walnut centre panel framed by broad cross-banded borders with a deep moulded edge enriched with carving. The tapering sides marquetried with pen-worked ivory & wood veneers depicting hunting scenes edged in beading, with boldly carved grotesque headed scrolls of foliage projecting from the corners above a gadrooned base raised on scaly paw feet, 32½ ins (82.5 cms) high, 70 ins x 27 ins (178 cms x 69 cms).
