A small Taisho period Japanese ivory pot and cover, signed to the front and with Oriental veduta, a carved soapstone brush pot and a 20th century miniature Japanese Satsuma baluster vase and a 19th century Chinese Canton plate decorated with birds, butterflies and flowers with underglaze blue seal mark to the base, diameter 18.5cm (4).

A late 19th/early 20th century Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam sewing box, carved throughout with foliate, floral and animal scenes, all within ivory inlaid borders, to interior various lidded sections with related carving and various small ivory containers, two metal carrying handles to either side, length 33cm. CONDITION REPORT Some elements missing from the edges of the case, interior complete but with some splits and losses to the mosaic decoration on one of the pots.
A good Chinese carved ivory brush pot, late 19th century, finely carved with scholars viewing rocks with attendants all beneath a pine tree, the opposing side with a young girl upon a bridge above two ducks and two attendants all between pine and willow trees, all between bands of prunus, bamboo, lotus flower and insect borders. Height 10.5 cm, diameter 7.1 cm (see illustration). FOR EU EXPORT ONLY CONDITION REPORT: In good order throughout with no obvious chips, cracks, losses or flaws. A nice example of its type. 175.3 grams.
A Chinese carved ivory cheroot holder, early 20th century, carved as a dragons head with part scale body, 14 cm long, together with an ivory cigarette case, circa 1920, signed with initials F.W. 8.5 cm. FOR EU EXPORT ONLY CONDITION REPORT: The cheroot holder has a small chip to the bottom of the rim of the aperture. There is a 1.5 x 5 mm stained section to the underside of the belly of the dragon. There are some chatter marks around the mouth piece. Otherwise this appears to be in good decorative order. The cigarette case has a stained patch beneath the engraved initials. The initials look to be by an amateur hand. The case appears to be free from an chips, cracks or damage. The cheroot holder weight 18.3 grams. The cigarette case weighs 45.6 grams.
An amusing Japanese ivory netsuke, late Meiji/early Taisho period, the adult rabbit in crouching position next to a pot from which emerges its kid, signed. 3.2 cm wide, 2.6 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is a tiny graze to the tip of the large rabbit's left ear, otherwise there appear to be no further chips, cracks or losses. The top of the body is lightly stained.
A 19th century mahogany bow fronted bedside cabinet, having a single oak lined drawer with turned ivory handles above a false tambour cupboard door, all upon four slender reeded legs. Width 43 cm, height 75 cm, depth 38.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is structurally extremely sound. There are no loose joints. The timber colour is very good. There are no cracks to the carcass. The drawer runs smoothly and the cupboard door is not warped. There are no repairs to the legs.
A Japanese Taisho period ivory okimono in the form of a hatching sparrow, signed to the base, a further Taisho period ivory animalier group of a kingfisher and its quarry perched on a wooden seed head with ivory seeds, height 11cm (2). CONDITION REPORT The kingfisher is lacking a securing peg to the base, otherwise there are no obvious signs of significant damage or repair.
A Japanese carved bone hairpin, Meiji period, decorated with a flower and insect, two character signature, a Chinese carved ivory hollowed tusk, late 19th century, decorated throughout with flowering peony and leaves, upon a wood stand, an African carved ivory crocodile, early 20th century and a carved ivory desk blotter, early 20th century, tallest 13.5 cm, the crocodile 38.5 cm.
A 19th century Chinese export sewing table, of rectangular form, the lacquered top with gilt chinoiserie decoration of figures and pagodas and having a well appointed interior with ivory needlework accessories all within fitted compartments and with central pullout tray all above an upholstered draw out basket and supported upon lacquered and gilt decorated lyre shaped legs and stylised paw feet. 64 cm wide, 74 cm high, 43 cm deep.
A Victorian ivory baton, with silver coloured metal mounts bearing plaque to Leasgill String Band presented to Mrs T.A. Argles by the members 1896. Length 48 cm, in contemporary but non original case. CONDITION REPORT: We have had a good look at the baton and cannot see any hairlines or significant blemishes to the ivory shaft. The condition is as good as one will find. The mounts are also in extremely good order with no issues. For EU export only.
