A finely carved 19th century Chinese ivory figure of Guanyin wearing an elaborate headdress and holding a vase containing a lotus, standing on a lotus pod base above lotus leaves, signed on red seal to base, height 33.5cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: Small loss to the headdress as can be seen in the front of the photograph, possibly been reglued at some stage across the base, but no signs of breaking, there are a couple of old splits to the base also, generally very good condition.
A 19th century Chinese Canton ivory brise fan with twenty-five sticks finely carved and pierced pagodas and floral sprays, length 26cm (af), five bone fans and a sandalwood example (7). CONDITION REPORT: Brise fan - one end stick missing and one stick broken off but present. Ribbon has come apart. Sticks have losses to ends, the rounded part.
An early 20th century Chinese Canton carved ivory and silk embroidered fan, the guard sticks decorated in relief with various figures in a village landscape scene above chrysanthemum sprays, the inner sticks carved and pierced to form figures in a landscape scene when extended, the fan finely embroidered with a dragon chasing a flaming pearl amidst clouds and flames, length 24cm, in fitted black lacquered shaped rectangular case (af). CONDITION REPORT: One of the guard sticks has been broken straight through towards the hinge end, otherwise condition is fairly good. The box is a bit tatty.
A Japanese Meiji period ivory okimono depicting a fisherman with a net of fish, signed to base, height 23cm. CONDITION REPORT: A section of the base of approx 3.5 x 2cm has been reglued, very minor losses to his head adornment, something to suggest there should have been something on his back as there is a peg on his hip, there are very minor age splits to the feet section, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
A Japanese Meiji period ivory okimono carved in one piece depicting a man taming a dragon, his robes decorated with clouds, unsigned, height 20cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are some old vertical age splits with are closed to the reverse and the edges of the base, the rectangular red tab which would have had a signature is not present any longer.
